Showroom reimagined

Completed in 2023, this inspiring collaboration with Kantoor Kunst and Studio Wüst was born from Interstuhl’s request to reimagine their showroom — updating both the aesthetic and spatial experience to better reflect their innovative, design-led approach to contemporary (home) office furniture. Unchanged for more than fifteen years, the existing showroom was a time capsule of early 2000s design: predominantly white, rigidly symmetrical, and defined by static seating layouts that obstructed light and framed views to the exterior. Though functional, the space felt outdated and lacked warmth, making it difficult for the brand’s products to truly shine.

The redesign focused on creating a more organic flow and human-centred environment. Existing structures were replaced with multifunctional raised platforms that integrate seating, planters, and display elements — allowing the furniture to be experienced dynamically and in context.
At the heart of the space, the central bar was retained but completely transformed. Clad in kit-kat–style glossy tiles and set against a backdrop of curved timber slats, it now serves as a striking focal point — fresh, tactile, and inviting.
A layered, contemporary colour palette was introduced to bring warmth and depth to the 300m² showroom, complemented by lush greenery thoughtfully designed and supplied by Studio Wüst. The planting adds texture, vibrancy, and a sense of wellbeing — illustrating how biophilic design can enhance both atmosphere and enjoyment within a workspace.

The result is a revitalised environment that feels modern, welcoming, and aligned with Interstuhl’s forward-thinking ethos.
